BLOCK B
BIOLOGY ARTICLE 2
To start, the first question presented was: "What is this subject about?"
In Grade 8 the main focus in Biology is cells.
- Different types of cells
- Functions of parts of the cells
- Immune system and viruses
In Grade 9 Biology is:
- How cells reproduce to make new cells
- Meiosis and mitosis
In Biology 11, there are a lot of key topics for examples:
- Studying under the use of microscopes
- Process of evolution
- Types of living organisms

The next question asked was, "What activities will students be expected to perform (Ex. Labs)?"
In Grade 9, some activities include:
- Using microscopes
- Observe cells going under mitosis

For the senior Biology classes, students are expected to learn to use microscopes, the process of evolution, all living things, and:
- Bacteria, viruses
- Simple animal structures to slightly more complicated

"What is your teaching style?"
- Frequent worksheets
- More written instructions
This interview with Mr. Dulay aims to teach students the course contents and what expected to be taught in the grades of 8, 9, and 11, and how learning Biology can help students in the future.
"Is there any special equipment required in Biology?"
- Microscopes
- Materials to perform a dissection

"How can Biology help students in the future?"

Learning Biology is important and can teach students valuable information about not only how a human functions, but other living things, like animals, plants, and how bacteria and viruses can make people sick.

This concludes the end of the interview.
Biology is the scientific study of life and living organisms. It is a broad natural science that encompasses a wide range of fields and unifying principles that explain the structure, function, growth, origin, evolution, and distribution of life.
Central to biology are five fundamental themes: the cell as the basic unit of life, genes and heredity as the basis of inheritance, evolution as the driver of biological diversity, energy transformation for sustaining life processes, and the maintenance of internal stability (homeostasis).
Biology examines life across multiple levels of organization, from molecules and cells to organisms, populations, and ecosystems. The discovery of the structure of DNA and advances in molecular genetics have transformed many areas of biology, leading to applications in medicine, agriculture, biotechnology, and environmental science.
